Let’s take a moment to think about our lives.
Think of life as a night train that we all have to get off someday.
What truly makes a life meaningful and worth living?

In our busy daily routines, we often chase the success that other people define for us. But a valuable life is measured by more than just money or job titles.
Living with purpose is about making our daily habits match what we truly care about, and enjoying the journey, not just the finish line. Life today is complicated, so we need to ask ourselves: what do we want to leave behind when we are gone? Is it just a pile of things we collected, or is it how we helped others and grew as a person?
In this post, I want to talk about how we can build a life that feels real and truly happy. Let’s take a look at three distinct paths to living a meaningful life.
1. Money : Seeking Financial Success
Imagine someone who focused entirely on making money and ended up incredibly wealthy. He drove a luxury car and spent a fortune on his hobbies, like fishing trips, and dating beautiful women.

But when his stop came and it was time to get off the train, he had to leave every single penny behind to his wife and kids. His family said, “He was a good dad and husband”. But others whispered, “He passed away without ever getting to enjoy all that wealth. What a waste.”
This path focuses on building a solid foundation of resources. It is driven by the ambition to achieve financial independence and the security that comes with material success.
2. Passion: Living Through Art and Joy
Then, there’s another person who spent his entire life playing the piano. He didn’t have much money, but just sitting at the keys brought him absolute peace. A few people truly loved his music, and that was more than enough to make him happy.

When his time came to get off the train, he sighed, ” I wish I had just a little more time to make people happy with my music.” And people said, ” He went peaceably with his music. It’s sad to see him go.”
This is a life dedicated to the things we love. Whether it is through the stroke of a brush or the harmony of music, this path finds its value in the pure joy of self-expression and creative exploration.
3. Purpose: Finding Happiness in Altruism
Finally, there’s someone who was always busy moving around the train cars. He met as many people as he could and lent a helping hand whenever possible. Helping others was what truly made him tick, and it brought him genuine joy.

When it was his turn to leave the train, he said, ” I wish I could stay a bit longer to help more people live happily”. Everyone who knew him cried, ” He was too good of a soul to leave us so soon. We are heartbroken to lose him.” Some even resolved, ‘From now on, I want to live just like him.'”
This way of living is about looking outside ourselves. By helping those in need, we turn our own happiness into something everyone can share. It proves that giving to others is where the greatest joy is.

“Which path are you walking today?
Perhaps the most beautiful life is one where these three paths cross in perfect harmony.”
